Detroit-style pizza

Detroit-style pizza is a style of pizza developed in Detroit, Michigan. It is a square pizza that has a thick deep-dish crisp crust and toppings such as pepperoni and green peppers, and is generally served with sauce on top of the cheese. The square shaped pizza is the result of being baked in a square pan, which is often not a pizza pan. Rather, industrial parts trays are often used, which were originally made to hold small parts in factories.

Greek pizza

Greek pizza refers to a style of pizza crust and its preparation, rather than its toppings. This style is baked in a pan, instead of directly on the bricks of the pizza oven, (as is more traditional for Italian pizza). The pan used is a shallow pan, in-contrast to the deep pans used in Chicago-style deep dish pizza. The pan is heavily oiled with olive oil. It has a crust that is usually chewy and puffy, almost like focaccia bread but not as thick. The crust is also rather oily, due to the heavily oiled pan used for the cooking process.

Pepperoni

Pepperoni, also known as pepperoni sausage, is an American variety of salami, usually made from cured pork and beef mixed together.

Pepperoni is characteristically soft, slightly smoky, and bright red in color. Thinly sliced pepperoni is a popular pizza topping in American-style pizzerias and is used as filling in the West Virginia pepperoni roll. It is also used to make some varieties of submarine sandwiches.

Sicilian pizza is pizza prepared in a manner that originated in Sicily, Italy. In the United States, the phrase Sicilian pizza is often synonymous with thick-crust or deep-dish pizza derived from the Sicilian sfincione [sfiŋˈtʃoːne].

Pizza

Nori, pickled ginger and roe are sometimes also served as toppings or sides.

St. Louis-style pizza

St. Louis-style pizza is a distinct type of pizza popular in the Midwestern American city of St. Louis, Missouri and surrounding areas. The definitive characteristics of St. Louis-style pizza are a very thin crust made without yeast, the common (but not mandatory) use of Provel processed cheese, and pizzas cut into squares or rectangles instead of wedges.

Marinara sauce

Marinara (English: "mariner's") sauce is an Italian sauce that originated in Naples, usually made with tomatoes, garlic, herbs, and onions. Its many variations can include the addition of capers, olives, spices, and a dash of wine.

This sauce is widely used in Italian-American cuisine, which has greatly diverged from its Old World origins.

Hawaiian pizza

Hawaiian pizza is a pizza that usually consists of a cheese and tomato base with pieces of ham and pineapple. Often versions will have mixed peppers, mushrooms and bacon. Another variety consists of pineapple and Canadian bacon or American Bacon. It is the most popular pizza in Australia, accounting for 15% of pizza sales.
